Im in a band, which you can listen to if you like. I'm the vocalist.
You might want to pass if you aren't into metal.

Musically it's absolutely fantastic. Though I think you need heavier music with your vocals (which are awesome). It's like Melodic metalcore, but.... Your vocals are bit more suited for Death metal?

Yarp, they were intended as Death Metal vocals. I always thought of us as a Melodic Death Metal band. There are quite a few bands that have a similar dichotomy between melodies and vocals: Skyfire seems to be the one we get most often compared too. However I was actually going for a Be'lakor-ish vibe with the vocals:

If it's the sound you were going for, it's great. You can't really fault it. See I don't like melodic death metal or melodic anything (despite how good it is MUSiCALLY). I like stuff like Bolt Thrower.
I'm pretty damn impressed though. It's top quality music. Your vocals are outstanding; just a bit heavy and from my point of view that's a good thing. I like heavy.

Oh yeh I am a big Death Metal fan myself, its just no-one else in my band really wants to play pure Death Metal haha. Personally I am getting into Ulcerate and Behemoth at the moment (and Gojira, but I'm not sure if I would count that as entirely Death Metal). Bolt Thrower are pretty good, I wish they would release a new album. Are they even still together? Its been like 10+ years since the last album right? PS: Ever listened to Meshuggah? If you like the opposite of melodic, you are going to love them.

Okay, well, you've clearly got a good group of guys. You're able to create the sound you want and they're doing what they want and it's good.
I won't really listen to bands signed to Nuclear Blast. So, I stay away from the likes of Behemoth and Meshuggah. I'm a bit of a dick.
Bolt Thrower are still together, but they've not released an album for a few years, yeah.

Thats a bummer, Meshuggah are the musical equivalent of being bludgeoned to death. They are insane. Nuclear blast have so many of the classic Death Metal bands though: Vader, Nile, Behemoth, Immolation. That is a fairly large chunk of the current crop of Death Metal giants. I think Wintersun and Enslaved are also on Nuclear Blast. Enslaved are to Black Metal as Pink Floyd were to Rock. There are a lot of shitty bands on Nuclear Blast, but also a few great ones. Its not like its as bad as Rise Records. I mean, hell, Roadrunner is known to be a total trend-whore of a label, but Opeth is on them, and few people would call Opeth trend-whores. Every label has a few good bands, even if, in general, I dislike what they do. Its just a pity you don't listen to them!

Enslaved have really changed their sound. You go from say... Eld to... Axioma Ethica Odini.. They're so different.
See, I don't like Opeth and Behemoth and these 'giants'. I'm going to have a much greater time listening to Burzum than I am Behemoth! So...

Don't worry, I'm not like those dickheads on youtube who flame anyone who doesn't like everything they do. Just because a band is big, doesn't mean you have to like them (what a shit world that would be). I agree: If you don't like Behemoth or whatever, don't bother with them. (thumb up) As an aside I quite like Umskiptar by Burzum, even if it doesn't really sound like Black metal to me. It reminds me of Agalloch a little bit.

I did listen to Axioma Ethica Odini to death. It's kind of amazing.
You've got a lot of people that won't like something because it's popular. That is a trend in itself!
I was planning to buy Umskiptar, but then never did. I'm really not listening to metal at the moment. Just rap.
