This board has more active designers than SI does, so I feel like I'll get a more varied opinion here. timberwoodhighs.proboards.com/index.cgiI made this board in 2007, then closed it down in 2009 due to inactivity. (I've attributed this to mistakenly introducing Twilight during a short-lived interest in the series.) A few months ago, I decided I was bored and that bringing it back to life could prove a challenge... So that's what I'm in the process of doing. I've just finished up the skin, save for the information in the sidebar and the possibility of unique category headers. Be as critical as you'd like. I've learned to accept criticism. Doesn't mean I'll use it, but I'll consider it at the very least. (:

Looks great elli, I love the colors you went with. The only thing I would try and do is make the top google ads line up with the rest the of the. It tends to stand out more wince it sticks out to the right more then the forum does. Other then it's great.

This looks pretty nice. I can't stand roleplay forums and the skins on most of them, but I like what all you have done with this. The CSS modifications you have look great. The static woods background is pretty cool. The logo looks really good. I'm not really sure what to tell you on improvements. I think it looks pretty nice. Good luck with your forum.

Aw thanks guys, I really appreciate it. :')
And you're right about the ads, Allan. I can't figure out why the bottom ad and everything else lines up correctly, but the top one doesn't. I might have try to target it with JavaScript.

last time I was on a PB site was back in 07. This site would've rocked back then. Actually, it looks really really good right now. Although, it loads slow as hell or not. It may be because im in the hospital right now and their wifi is not that fast. Nonetheless, I think it's a fluid design with lots of potential. The only issue for me is that its for an RPG. I never understood them nor liked them.

I never understood them nor liked them. It did okay in 07, not as well as some of the others. I wish I would have the sense and skill to make this specific template back then, though hindsight is 20/20. I hosted the JS and CSS on my server, and that helped speed it up slightly; unforunately, there is a lot of code and you are correct, it is a bit slower on low connection speeds. Hospital wifi is probably not helping. haha Thank you! I'm not fond of RPGs either, despite owning this one. There are so many of them, and a great majority are, for lack of better terms, shitty. Nonetheless, I'm glad you like it!

Shitty. That's the same term I would have used! I can't stand RPG forums. They make me sad. They're what's all wrong with ProBoards now, and with ProBoards V5 being particularly made to benefit RPG forums, it's all down hill from here honestly.

There are people who will have two, or even three, and then within a month of being created, half of 'em die or just get closed down because the admin gets bored. I'm also bothered by how the majority of them fail to create new content; they reuse the same color schemes, patterns, textures, even written content. It gets old fast and ruins it for those of us who actually put any thought or effort into our board.

what's more sad is the fact that a lot of these rpg's have better looking forums than those that "specialize" in design...
