At work I use a windows 7 machine with multiple monitors. At home, I have a macbook pro.
To be honest, I prefer w7 to mac. It may be because I use it more often than my personal computer.
What are your thoughts?

My work computer is a Dell laptop with Windows 7, hooked up to a big ol' monitor. At home, I have a huge HP TouchSmart that was bought with Vista, but upgraded to 7. And then another HP gaming laptop, also with Windows 7.
Can't stand Mac as an OS. Ever since I was little, I hated it. Vista was a terrible OS, but 7 is very nice, so that's where my loyalty lies. We'll see how 8 goes.

When designing? I'd easily go with Mac. Ive got both PC and Mac, and my Mac runs Adobe programs much better than my PC, despite the Mac having half the ram and no dedicated GPU. Plus Mac has Coda and Textmate which are by far my favorite code editing tools by far. All in all, I go with Mac for designing and PC for gaming!

It seems like a lot of web designers, graphic designers, and programmers prefer Mac because of those code editing programs that are exclusive to Mac. One of my friends on another forum absolutely loves Coda. Personally, I am not an Apple fan. I can't afford the expensive products Apple makes. The prices for Mac desktops can get outrageous compared to buying a cheap Windows 7 desktop. At the end of the day, I'm sure you probably get what you pay for, but I'm not one to throw down more than a couple hundred dollars on a computer because I'm not very good at taking care of them whether it's the security or whatever. So, I guess I prefer Windows 7 over Mac. I have used a Mac desktop at my mom's work before and they're amazing (though I still don't think they're worth what Apple charges), but I just can't afford it unfortunately.

I prefer my MacBook for designing and my Windows 8 Dell laptop for coding.

When designing, I use my Mac. For anything else, I would have to say my beautiful Compaq Windows 7 laptop.

I like to design with windows 7 because I think notepad is the best. Notepad++ is also advanced but more simple that dreamweaver.
