The only anime I've ever watched all the way through was High School of the Dead, and it was under much pressure from a friend.
My personal opinion on anime has always been that it's for Caucasian kids who want to be Asian. That's how it is around here, anyway. At my high school, the anime nerds were all greasy, tail-wearin', rainbow-haired oddities, so I just stayed far away from that stuff. Naruto, Deathnote and Full Metal Alchemist in particular... Yaoi of those fandoms even more particularly. -shudder- What's that show/manga with the different countries personified? Like Italy, Germany, etc. That stuff mixed with yaoi is unpleasant, gets posted on deviantART constantly.
Not sayin' you guys are weird or whatever, but I guess the fascination with anime just eludes me. Pokemon and DragonballZ are okay, but that's as far as I'll go. Spirited Away is admittedly pretty good too, but definitely nightmare fuel.
To each their own. Everyone's gotta have their "thing".

Thats.. an interesting take on Anime! And I can assure you Im not a greasy nerd LOL. Just a clean one. Haha, it's a little judgmental I'll admit, but that's just all I've ever known. There weren't many "normal" anime fans at school... If there were, they were closeted about it since my high school was super clique-y. Plus, with the weirdos on the internet (particularly 4chan), that did't help my opinion any. But it's good to know you can be normal and clean, and still be into anime. It's comforting that not everyone is so strange.

Like Italy, Germany, etc. That stuff mixed with yaoi is unpleasant, gets posted on deviantART constantly. That's pretty funny. Really funny actually. There were white kids like that at my high school, too. They were the loud ones (those that wore the fox tails and walked around with their face buried in manga). But the quiet majority of the anime fans were the asians. As an anime fan, I've been to about 5 conventions of the last several years. They're good fun, as long as you don't mind the occasional creeper. I usually stick to the viewing rooms and watch like the first 10 episodes of a random anime. Here are some that I enjoy: Fooly Cooly <- FLCL is the reason why I joined my first proboard. Dragon Ball Z <- in grades 5-7 I ran a DBZ website, super saiyan explosion. Also seen the series all the way through 3-4 times, I forget. Easily my favorite anime. Maybe even my favorite show of all time. Pokemon <- First few seasons, of course. Somehow I know the first like 7 theme songs. Inuyasha <- Yeah, its for girls. So what. Full Metal Alchemist <- I never got to finish it though. Mushishi <- found out about this gem at a viewing room at a con. Hamtaro <- If we work together, it's much better! Lupin the 3rd <- If you haven't heard of it, go check it out. One of my favorites. Paranoia Agent <- Oh God yes. Go watch, now. It's so good! And creepy, too! Cowboy Bebop <- If this isn't on your list, you need to rewatch it. There are others, but I'll save you from having to read my list.
